Blighted soil bug?

Just had my char get diseased from a gloomy poison ivy casting Agony while the poison ivy was on blighted soil, even though my char was not on blighted soil. Seems like it might be a bug - or is it intentional?

Blighted soil gives a disease chance to those who stand on it, not against those. Though it also lowers disease immunity.

Hmmm...player was not on blighted soil...gloomy poison ivy was on blighted soil...ivy cast Agony (a timed effect) on player...player was not showing the blighted soil icon...yet player got disease from the blighted soil effect...
Sounds like the ivy's blighted soil effect is somehow being seen as belonging to the player when the Agony timed effect is being applied to the player?

No, there's no bug here. The character on the blighted soil gets a chance to cause disease when it hits an enemy. The Ivy was on the soil and it had a chance to cause a disease to you (it's enemy) when it hit you.
The target of the attack (your character) being on blighted soil is irrelevant to the intended effect.

Ah, I see.
The description is a bit confusing, then. It says, "The target is walking on blighted soil, reducing diseases resistance by 60% and giving all attacks a 40% chance to infect the target with a random disease (can only happen once per turn)."
In the first clause, "the target" refers to the char with the blighted soil effect, but in the last clause, "the target" refers to the char receiving the attack from the char with the blighted soil effect. I was reading this as if "the target" meant the same thing in both clauses.
How about something like this: "The target is walking on blighted soil, reducing its disease resistance by 60%, and giving all its attacks a 40% chance of causing a random disease (can only happen once per turn)."
