My character created a clone in Ruined dungeons. I was a Dwarf Oozemancer. I left the level and problem solved.

What were you doing when the clone spawned?

I had just finished clearing the first level of the dungeon which has Subject Z at the bottom.

i mean that's kinda worthless info for tracking the bug. to solve it we need specific info on which skill or item cloning is related to.

Clones are easy to make. Create a Solipsist with Night Terrors and Dream Hammer. Throw the hammer so that it will go through a creature, killing it and creating a Terror, then the hammer will come back and kill the terror. Now walk over the spot that the terror was killed on. Boom, insta-clone. This seems to happen any time that a creature is killed in the same turn it is summoned, so can happen with an Oozemancer's oozes and slimes.
If his was the same kind of clone that typically pops up, it's not really a clone but more like a wormhole pointing back at the real you. If you attack the "clone", your character takes damage.
I could go into even more detail, but I'm pretty sure I already did in an earlier bug report I posted.

ok, i sort of understand that. cloning problems have been in the game ever since i started playing two years ago, but i had hoped they had been removed. it must be tricky to get rid of them i guess.

I haven't figured out how to fix the bug that creates them, but my AWOL addon can remove them, if that helps.
