Launching the game directly is not working properly

Before patch 1.2.2, the last patch I had played on was a while ago on patch 1.5? Regardless, when I updated to 1.2.2, I found that the old patch launcher wasn't working and that I needed to download a new patch launcher. I did so, but after updating it wasn't finding my profile, saves, or game settings when I launched the game from the patch launcher. I found this odd because if I launched the game directly from the game launcher instead of using the patch launcher, it knew my profile, saves, and game settings as normal. I did some investigating and I figured out that to fix the patch launcher, I needed to change the profile home directory as seen by the patch launcher. In the process I realized that a long time ago I had my profile, saves, and game settings stored separately from the game files themselves, so I moved them to the same place, set the profile home location in the patch launcher accordingly, and it now works fine.

However, after doing all this, now when I launch the game directly it doesn't know my profile, saves, or game settings. I can still launch the game from the patch launcher properly, but not being able to launch the game directly is a notable hindrance (for various reasons). I tried downloading the game fresh and replacing the direct game launcher with the downloaded one, but to no effect. I'm pretty sure that this can be fixed by making the direct game launcher look at the new location I have for my profile, saves, and game settings, but I have no idea how to change that. Can anyone tell me how to change it, because I can't figure out how and I'm fed up with fiddling with this... :roll:

depends on solution you want

1. use same path as launcher:
add '--home some/path/to/profile' to your standard ToME exe (ie make some .bat file or in shortcut icon)

2. make launcher use default path
'run' -> 'regedit' -> find 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/T-Engine 4/home' -> remove it

edit
ups wrong path in registry : )

I tried the registry change, and that didn't work Graziel. All it did was remove the default profile path from the patch launcher. I need the default profile patch for the direct launcher fixed...

can you post what path you have now and what path you want?

What path I want is not relevant, because I already know the path it has now and I know the path I want. The problem is that changing the path in the patch launcher only applies to the path for the patch launcher, NOT the path for the direct launcher. Knowing how to change the path of the direct launcher is what I'm looking for here.

im getting confused now..
at first you had two paths - A( from launcher ) and D (default from 'direct' launcher )
after the change both points to D (if i understood you correctly) but you wanted to both point to A
so why not use 1st solution i gave? (with --home)

After the registry change, the patch launcher pointed at nothing, and the direct launcher didn't change where it pointed to at all. Whatever the places/things are that tell the patch launcher and the direct launcher wherein to look for the profile path seem to be two completely separate entities.
