ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hi, I'm running ToME 1.2.1 on Windows 7 (although I first downloaded with 1.2 and the problem existed then too). Whenever I first startup the launcher, anything to do reacting to mouse actions (hovering over an option, clicking an option, etc.) happens extremely slowly. The slideshow and progress bars seem to run just fine, but if I click an option, it takes about 5-15 seconds before the button I clicked will even highlight from my mouse moving over it, and then another second or two until it flashes green from the click action. Beyond that, when I'm actually in the game, everything is running perfectly fine; this only is happening in the launcher.

Not sure if many other people are experiencing this or if it is a known bug. I did a quick search on the bugs category here and didn't see anything similar to my problem, so if this already exists elsewhere, my apologies.

I can second this. It gets pretty bizarre, the lack of response.

So I'm travelling right now, and ended up running ToME while I was offline. The problem doesn't occur while not connected to the internet. I'm guessing this is a problem with the engine, maybe improper threading (or lack thereof)? It's times like this that I wish I could do a bit of code diving, haha
