ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I accidentally used my rod of recall while fighting the horned horror, and when I returned to the 4th floor of the maze it reloaded as if I'd never explored it and there were no monsters. Is there anyway I can fix this problem?

Not unless you want to venture into the realm of debugging.

Do note, however, that the quest in question is entirely optional. It isn't necessary to complete it.
