ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I was leaving Gates of Morning for the first time, and while the game was saving, it crashed. Upon re-opening the game, my save file had regressed to when I first left the Scintillating Caves. The save file sill has all of the data up until Gates of Morning. Is there anyway to restore the character to where he was?

I have this same problem. But with me, I keep getting sent back to the beginning of Nargos' Lair. I've started a thread. But like you have had no response.

Are either of you using any addons?
Are you using Steam? If so, have you tried turning the cloud sync off?

A crash while saving is almost impossible to recover from.

I don't know if I'm using addons. But I assume by the name that if you don't know if you have them, you probably don't. Maybe I'm wrong. How would one check?

I haven't turned off the sync cloud. How is that done?

My problem doesn't involve a crash during a save. So I may not want to steal this guys thread. It's too bad though. Not being able to save progress beyond a 6th or 7th level character is reason to quit the game. I feel kind of ripped off.
