ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I downloaded some older addons today, and should have known it was a bad idea - ever since then, necromancer characters I create start without a souls bar, and there is a bug message every time I kill a creature that would result in a soul (yes, necrotic aura is turned on). Loading a premade necromancer from a few days ago starts me with a souls bar, but still gives a bug message, and no souls are added. Before those most recent addons, everything was fine. I deleted everything I downloaded today from the addons folder, and then created new characters, but to no avail, the same thing happens.

Any ideas how I could fix this? Is there a way for me to reinstall the game, copy over the addons I had before today, and keep my already existing characters (the ones I had before today's addons)?

Nevermind, I forgot to delete the addon "added difficulties". Now that I deleted it, everything is fine. Shame, the new difficulties sounded fun.
