[1.1.5] Error uploading addon to Steam

Hi, I've been trying to load an addon to Steam and having trouble. The addon is successfully published on te4.org (
this). I log into the steam version of the game and select Upload Addon to Steam from the develeoper addon, the part about the image goes fine, but can't seem to progress past that, with a "There was an error uploading the addon" message. Game log reports:
Code: Select all
[MODULE LOADER] addon haunted MD5 e7a9b51c5510fc2552b2ac4a42b30e37 computed in 20 nil
Make wait background texture 140 : 1024x707 (1024, 1024)
Wait finished, counted 4, 317 ticks
[STEAM UPLOAD] Got addon steam pubid nil
Make wait background texture 300 : 1024x707 (1024, 1024)
[STEAM WORKSHOP] publishing user-generated-addons/tome-haunted.teaa (201197) with preview user-generated-addons/tome-haunted-custom.png (48036) => 1
Wait finished, counted 0, 449 ticks
I'm guessing a nil pubid isn't working out so great, but I'm not sure what could cause it. I've tried this on two machines (both windows) and gotten the same result. Any help appreciated, thanks!

Is your te4 account linked to your steam account?

Yes. If it makes any difference, my Steam account is mostly inactive and I only hooked it up recently. I did the original publish with the non-Steam version of the game and then signed into the Steam version to try and publish there.

I have no idea then.
Maybe you have to agree to some sort of agreement before the workshop will accept addons?

I think the agreement is after you upload the first time, in order to make it available to others, but I don't remember for sure.
Both the Steam and non-Steam version use the same directory to store the zipped-up team file, so it should probably work the way you did it. Do you see your addon in C:\Users\[username]\T-Engine\4.0\tome\user-generated-addons ? It won't upload the zip that's in the normal addon directory. That should be a directory, and then ToME makes a zip when you publish it and puts it in the user-generated-addons. That's what gets upload to the ToME and Steam servers.

I went to the Steam site to accept the agreement already.
Yes, the zipped up .teaa is sitting where it should in the directory. Uploading to te4 went fine, it's just Steam that's being weird.

If it shows you as logged in to Steam at the bottom of the very first memu page, then I'm out of ideas. The only time I haven't been able to upload is when it didn't auto-log me in. I remember someone else having trouble though... Zizzo, I think... and it sounded like it lasted for days.
Here it is:

Thanks for the info, looks like it might be the same issues. Guess I'll just have to stay tuned!

Hmm, may not be the same problem. It sounds like you're having problem with the initial upload to Steam; that's always worked for me, and updates to addons already on Steam worked at first. It's just recently that updates have stopped working.

I've been suffering this problem for the past eight months or so and finally managed to fix it. A previously suggested fix was to purge steam cloud from the tome main menu, but that just generated a lua error. After some increasingly ridiculous testing this worked:
Re-enabled steam cloud in ToME. Let steam sync. Ran the game, disabled steam cloud saves, did NOT purge data. Suddenly things worked again. Sure, WHY NOT.
