ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Since yesterday, the game does not save progress any more, nor does it save newly created characters. I'm running the Steam version, my internet connnection is on and Steam is running. It's the first time I had this issue. Any advice why this might happen?

What do you mean exactly by not saving progress? unlocks & such ?

The game doesn't save game progress. For example, in one session I cleared the halfling ruins, saved and exited the game, and when I loaded that character again, it was as if I hadn't played that session. I tried again with the same character and some of my other characters, such as changing zone or moving a few tiles, and the same issue happens over and over.

Contrary to what I said before, this seems to affext existing characters only, but it's not restricted to just one character. I can still create new characters (and they do seem to save progress).

Haven't unlocked anything new since I ran into that issue, so not sure about that.

Are you getting any messages/errors from Steam about synching your saves to the cloud?
