Infinite saving and slow resting

Greetings community!
After i reinstalled my OS (Windows 7) I have not been able to play the game ):
Although all my drivers have been installed and updated, ToME functions very poorly
1) I am unable to save. When I attempt to do so i get [Screenshot-related]
2) The resting part of auto-exploring has become dreadfully slow, whereas it before would appear to be almost instant.
EDIT: I have tried deleting and downloading the games several times and several versions (1.15-1.13)
