Steamtech UI won't go away

I've tried disabling it. I've tried deleting it from the DLC folder. I can not get rid of this thing so I can use classic view for my crappy eyes.
Before anyone asks, I bought it because I was around during the PernAngband days (I remember Thangorodrim for god's sake.) DarkGod's and Thomas Biskup's are the only games from my early days on the Internets that I still play 12 years later. Both games deserve what money I can spare.
Edit: Figured it out. Damn auto-update. Disregard please.
