Hammer Toss vs Carbon Spikes

Despite me being several tiles away, I'm being inflicted with bleeding.

It works the same as other damage when hit. Should all of those types of damage be disabled on ranged melee hits?

Would make sense for when melee hit things to at check you are in melee range.
I'm still puzzled that blocking creatures can counterstrike when hit from range.

This was a conscious request; the player can counterstrike from range with sling + shield, which was the desired result.

Distance is an illusion! The hammer is a part of you, so why should that which harms the hammer not harm you as well?
