ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So I went through the first part of the game and then got sent back to the East. Came back, ran into a patrol and it turned out to be a bunch of Orcs. I'm not sure if this is by design or if it's a bug.

Edit: And now the patrols are back to normal. Maybe because I went into town?
