[1.1.3] Activating OpenGl shaders makes the game darker

I've finally found the culprit of this annoying issue that I've had since 1.1.2!

If I activate the opengl shaders, the game screen becomes noticeably darker, although it doesn't appear to be a gamma issue, as raising it makes things a little better, but doesn't really solve it. Anyway, I've had this since 1.1.2, and while it might not seem really noticeable in these 2 screenshots I've taken, it can make things really dark in some places. I've also noticed that, since this started happening, the game loading screen flickers between a lighter and a darker version, which I suppose is related to this.

Bump - any answers to this? It's really annoying, since disabling the shaders, besides making the game uglier, also deactivate the screen's reddening when on low health, and I've just now realized how dependent I had become on that :D

I wouldn't call the issue fixed, just sidestepped. See this issue for more details.
