summoner unlock?

Did the summoner unlock change on 1.0.5? I started a new game on a new computer,as a dwarf beserker.in the deep bellows, I found a summoner rare, and then I fought the mouth(or whatever is the name of the deep bellow boss).I've quit to see if I unlocked anything...but nope.no unlock.Is this a bug?
