ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I get to the bottom of the lair, follow the digger worms everywhere it seems they'll go a few times around, but no Sandworm Queen to be found. I tried this thing I read about deleting the .teaz file to reset the zone, but no dice.

Now oddly, this is the first time I've gotten the standard lair since I started playing again after a long while. With the alternate lair, where you just follow one giant digger, I've had no missing queen problem. Not sure if that's related.

Not sure but I think the alt Sandworm generates level by level, meaning the alt is just one level and the rest is regular Sandworm.

Have you checked your journal if the quest is still active or for some reason completed already?

if the map generates a single "hole" she can be sitting in that. so you need a form of mapping/detection.

Quest still says to finish the Lair and kill the Queen.

I did that delete zone file thing to regenerate the level three or four times. If that were simply the case, isn't it unlikely it would happen that many times in a row?

I decided to try regenerating the Sandworm Lair one more time before I either give up on this file or see if I can just skip killing her and continue, and she's still missing. But I did notice these lines in the te4_log.txt that seem to indicate she wasn't being generated at all for some reason, not just that she was lost somewhere.
