[Beta 1.0.5] Bloated horror with glithced graphics.

Hit a bloated horror on Nur 3, and it gets this white box over it, with a rainbow colored gradient circle. Box slowly spins around, endlessly.

Last enemy to die in the logfile had the effect on them. So did a few others on the previous floor, during me clearing the vault. I can't pin exact spot down though, other thing then things being crushed by my gravity-oriented waraxe.

Granted, this isn't the original bloated horror, but it's reoccurred on a number of enemies since then.

If this is a shader issue, I think I can save you some time. I have no shader support on my PC at all. Curious that it doesn't default to the lo-fi shader-free version like other things do. I can still check the file, next time I boot the game up.

Oh. Then it should be easy: looks like DG has forgotten to check if distortion effects are enabled before applying this one.

2 more of these. Gravity spike generates similarly glitched graphics, and so does the effect on a dying void horror. (Might be the same thing.) In both cases, only pops on screen for a moment and vanishes, but it's the same borked up shader effect as before.

Are you sure that you have shader and distortion effects turned off in the settings? The only way you can have these bugs is by enabling these effects while your GPU does not support them. Note that creatures who already have such effects applied will still have them if you turn the option off.

I confirm that even with every shaders options disabled in the option menu, you can get this happening.

To help speed, i always disable every shaders before starting a game in a new version of ToME4 , and at some point of 1.0.5c i ran into a Dreaming Horror that got me nearly immediately on the Dreamscape, and there a very lot of those white boxes with gradient colors on top of them were popping up around the screen with each use of the skills the dreaming horror was throwing at me.

This didn't happened in 1.0.4

I wasn't aware the options needed to be disabled... My understanding was the computer not being detected as compatible caused them to auto-disable, which is why I never saw this stuff in .4...

Guess I was wrong?
