ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So after working through the game and going to Dreadfell and getting all the way to floor 9 "The Master" never spawned. I've looked everywhere seeking out possible rooms that got walled in (or needed to be dug out) but have found nothing. Has anyone else ever had this issue? Is there a possible fix?

Have you tried to dig all around that level to see if by any chances the game spawned the Master in a wall far from any actual room/corridor ?

I had a similar problem with the Sandworm Queen, and after digging everywhere, i saw that in fact the game wrongly spawned that monster inside of a wall, out of any available room

Yep, I've dug around everywhere looking... I've even got earth eyes, so there are no more 'dark' tiles (or whatever). One thing to note is that this is on 'easy' mode and there was a vault on level 9 with an elite level 64 monster (don't remember it's name) when I'm only level 27. The vault has a lava floor and the monsters inside were fire based (fire drakes and such).
