In the Infinite Dungeon Alchemist's golem gains 3 stat, 1 class and 1 generic points on level up (like a normal character), while in the default compaign it gains 2 stat points per level and 1 class talent point every 3 levels, I'm not sure about the exact numbers here but they are different anyway.

I'm not saying it's not a bug, but it's been working this way since forever - they even get prodigies in the ID.

Been there so long, reported so many times, must be a feature. Enjoy choosing prodigies for your golem (Or giving them escort trees, since they earn both cat points and generics in the ID.)

Irresistable sun and superpower golem with corrupted strength (from your own blighted summoning) and a maxxed Celestial Light tree. Or perhaps, get exotic mastery for them via escort, then have them learn Legacy of the Naloren to raise it to mastery of 10, and give them a nice trident. Golems are like adventurer's in the ID. So much fun.

Crim, thank you for that info. Yeah, indeed, i'm getting so much fun from this feature. Just found Potion of Martial Prowess and gave it to my golem, now it unlocked Technique/Combat Training, Spell/Staff Combat and Wild-gift/Mindstar Mastery :D

Just found another good thing: you can wait for this potion to drop and unlock Technique/Combat Training on your golem, then max out Thick Skin and Golem Resilience, respectively. You will end up with 10/5 in Thick Skin.

Off topic: how do you get escort quests in the ID?

It's not a feature, at least, not that I've ever heard anyone that works on the game say; It just required a rather intense recoding to fix, due to how the ID is structured.

Basically, it uses a flag that, I believe, is normally meant to be for summoned creatures, to give you the differing category points, level handling past 50, etc. in the Infinite Dungeon. This messes with the Golem's handling of points, as the idea is to keep him leveling effectively past 50, if I read the code correctly, so it kinda references your stat/talent gains to do this...and never has actually restored his normal leveling rate to compensate for this.

And doing so without overhauling the entire handling of levelups in the ID is basically not possible, unless I miss something. (Which I may have.)

I've actually got a fix for it in the latest version of this addon, though. It makes the Infinite Dungeon(and the added point-granting difficulties) add a simple flag which the levelup process checks for in Actor, rather than overwriting the entire function in the Birth file.

I even thoughtfully made Intense give your Golem the same extra points Intense gives the player, without just giving him PC leveling rate, so it could be formalized into a more general/balanced handling of the bug-into-feature. :)

That requires an addon that adds a lot of new features to the ID, including the random events (Damp cave, intimidating cave, rat lich crypt), escorts, and allowing certain bosses to drop certain items. (Sandworm queen and her heart, Orc pride bosses and the orbs, Corrupted Wyrm and the Wyrm Bile, etc.) Also allows necromancers/adventurers to finish the lichform quest properly in the ID. And rebalances talents to stop them from scaling out of control and doing millions of points of damage. (Many of the rebalances are being integrated into the next version, supposedly.) The addon in question is Infinite500. Enjoy!
