ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

^Topic. After dying, respawning, clearing floor 1 of Rakshor pride, I move into floor 2, and partway through, notice that I am no longer generating shadows. Turning the sustain off and back on did not resolve the problem. (And I waited from near 100 hate to near 30. No shadows at all.)

What causes shadows to cease generating like this, and how do I fix it? Without it, this character is doomed.

Strange, I played a doomed all the way through this weekend and didn't see this problem at all.

I recall seeing the same thing several versions ago. It seems that, when it does happen, it's confined to a particular level--The level is permanently bugged, but shadows work on other levels. In my case, one of the bugged levels was the Vor Armory, so yeah.
