Agrimley spawned at the entrance to Daikara, and I can't get in. Is there a way to recover this game?

I think you're screwed.

It would be nice if the Hermit had a fixed, harmless spawn square (like the Angolwen mage) or some fixed possible squares.

He wanders a bit. Very slowly and not far, but he does move around.

I had him drift a bit from his initial position with ziguranth patrols in his vicinity. That location is likely to attract such patrols, thus I wouldn't abandon all hopes ;)

I reported this back in b43, and I think it was reported before that, so DarkGod is surely aware of it. Agrimely didn't spawn there; what happens is when an allied patrol moves into his square they swap places. Over time these little random walks can add up to significant distances. The apprentice mage does this as well, and could conceivably end up on the Maze or Old Forest entrances if patrols ever step there. The only non-cheat solution would be to hold 5/wait and hope he is eventually pushed aside.
