Either this should be explicitely stated in the description, or perhaps it should damage the caster. I think it's more interesting if you had to be a bit careful using it. Spellshaping should help protect you, as it does with other things, I suppose.

On the other hand, I never hear the talent used much, probably because people do think it damages self.

Maybe it just needs that spelled out instead.

Dunno, it also seems a touch expensive for what it does. On the other hand I haven't put a lot of points in it yet. Maybe once I play an arcane focused Archmage it'll look different. Also I guess a lot of people don't like DoT much?

I was using it as a reasonable way to damage multiple targets at lower levels before I got my Manathrust and Flame to be beams. But haven't been using it lately. Might try it out as an arcane bomb sorta thing, cast it on some wimpy mob and then detonate it... may not be worth the hassle but we'll see.
