Freeing slaves does not break grapple

In Slaver Compound, if a hostile slave grapples the player, and then the slave is freed by killing his master, the slave continues to grapple the player. Is this a bug or a hug?

PS. While grappled, the player can still swap places with freed slaves, while staying grappled ... perhaps getting a hug from each one? (sorry...)

Equally annoying: If you hit a slave with a DoT before freeing him, the DoT will turn him hostile after he turns friendly. The end result is that all the freed slaves turn on you, and you are forced to slaughter them to a man. Dammit, don't they realize that sometimes you have to set a man on fire in order to free him?!
