ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I've noticed that in the effect display, the various Curses from the Cursed Touch tree seems to blink green every single turn. It doesn't particularly affect anything in the game, but it is rather annoying.

EDIT: After having started another character, I noticed that this did not seem to affect them. Not sure how exactly this works.
