Stuck in Sea of Eyal after teleporting out of Dreadfell

After I was done with Dreadfell, I teleported out. I materialized in the Sea of Eyal, the upper left corner of the world map. My golem is active, and my main character can't be selected. The golem can't move or use any skills.
Is this the end of the line for my first character?
