ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hi,

I tried making both a cornac sun paladin and a shaloren anorithil, and both times no portal was spawned at the end of the slazish fens. This seems to make it impossible to make a human or elven celestial character at the moment, as you cannot complete the starting area and are stuck in the Far East.

My friend also tried making a cronac sun paladin and had the same problem.

The portal isn't an exit, it's a coral-looking thing. You have to move into it and then it gives you an option to destroy it.

Is your character supposed to notice it when auto-exploring? I swear I looked around the level and found nothing.

No, auto-explore doesn't care about it. It's also, annoyingly, the same color as the water on the minimap. You can use capslock to scroll around the level and look for it.

Edit: My my, that's one ugly-ass portal, but I found it at last. Still, I'd suggest looking up into why auto-explore ignores it, and/or maybe changing its skin? But that's just my 2 cents; now that I found it, it won't bother me anymore.
