At first glance it seems to work. Made a new character and had no problems leaving the arena quest or derth afterwards.
I keep playing and report back, if something happens.

and btw: It took me a while to figure out how to install the fix. You could have mentioned that it' goes to the addon folder

Same here, as I said on IRC it seems to work, as soon as I disable the fix the loading delay is back and re-enabling the fix removes it again.

Throwing in my 2 cents, love the hotfix. I didn't think the slow load description others gave matched my problem, but I gave your fix a try and I'm zoning just like I used to.

fix one seems to work for me but auto-pickup became finicky (sometimes I'd have to walk over an item a second time for it to pick up)
