ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I was on the 5th level of Dreadfell, and got confused a couple of times by some wights. After the confusion ended, the screen was still blurry and hard to make out. I tried getting confused again, casting Providence, switching levels, closing and restarting the game, and even using the Rod of Recall to leave Dreadfell. Nothing worked. I don't really want to abandon this character- what should I do?

In the Video Options menu, turn off OpenGL shaders. This will turn off all of the Confuse, Lightning Speed, Invisibility, and Stealth overlays.
