ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

i'm quite sure this doesn't count as a real bug, as the bearscape was never intended to work with b38, but just to let you all know: attempting to enter the bearscape portal in b38 actually did bug out and i'm in a perpetual loading screen. i'll leave it going for a little while in hope, but i'm almost certainly going to have to kill the process.
