[b38-b40] Targetting cursor bugs out

When targeting spells, the screen bugs out and starts scrolling rapidly and excessively if aimed in certain areas.

This is often when aiming near the edge of the view distance from the character, but not always. When aiming at certain areas of the screen (which seems to vary) the map will suddenly snap away rapidly towards the edge of the map, and it takes a lot of coaxing and deliberate effort to aim at that area. It seems like it was introduced in b38, and has only gotten worse since.

It's particularly bad when mixed with the reported bug involving Kinetic Aura spiking when saving. I'll enter a level (thus auto-saving), and the screen will snap to the edge of the map with a targeting line asking me for a target.

I am also experiencing this problem on [b40] using any ability that requires targeting. If I have the mouse pointer placed in the exact center of the square I want to select, then no bug occurs and I am able to use the ability. However if I move the mouse at all once the ability has been selected, the screen jumps and shakes around to another portion of the map and does not stabilize. This makes using such skills as Phase Door difficult, when you must select the place in which you wish to phase into.

Running ToME under Ubuntu on a 10" Netbook screen might also be the problem here. I have tried changing the resolution, running fullscreen, changing tilesets, and changing the video options.

Ca you select a target square using the directional keys? If you are trying to aim at something other than a unit, you can use shift+key to move freely.

Thank you for this suggestion, I have just confirmed that I am able to select targets for an ability using shift + directional keys. This works also with Phase Door, which requires two targets to be selected. A temporary solution, however it will make me be much more sure of what I am attacking now =)
