ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I've gotten this twice already: Playing an alchemist, when I get to the far east, the female anorithil attacks and tries to kill me. I thought it might be that she hostilified due to bomb splash, but this does not seem to be the case as I made sure not to bomb near her this time.

Any ideas on why is this happening?

Her AOE can hit your golem, and if it has Reflective Skin the damage reflect makes her hostile. I don't remember if it happens without Reflective Skin as well, but you're better off avoiding it if you're going for the Anorithil/Corruptor unlocks.

I got a nasty crash afterwards and upon reloading there were several things screwed up, so I think I'm creating a new alchie. Undead this time. I don't like elves that much.

Maybe you are playing as an undead and you do not wear the cloak of deception.
In that case other npcs attack on sight.

The golem thing is a common problem, really...
