[b38] Cannot run the game

Good day.
I'm first time trying to play this game.
When I'm starting game, it shows splashscreen (redhead female mage and knight with a sword) with loadbar. Loadbar doesn't moving as I was looking at him for about 5 minutes. Then I left the game minimized, and after some time music started playing and mouse changed to game cursor when I've tried to switch, but the game still doesn't run :( Process uses the CPU and writes something in te4_log.txt file (which I attached to post just in case).

Same on beta 37.

My system specifications: Windows XP SP3 x86, Intel i5-2500, GeForce 9600GT.

I am having the same problem too. I found an error in my stderr.txt file saying, "PANIC: unprotected error in call to Lua API (Unable to initialize: attempt to call a string value)", and I'm wondering if this is related to the problem. Unfortunately I don't know enough about Lua/T-engine to determine whether it is relevant or not.

Yeah, I've seen this file too, but it doesn't re-create when you delete (rename) it before relaunch game, so.. It seems to be simply left in the archive with the game.

I also had that file with the same content, but I can at least run the game (although i cannot play it because of frequent annoying inventory screen crashes).

The "PANIC" line is nothing to panic about. There is nothing obviously wrong in the log file, although this is typical of windows machines because they do not flush the log file and you can miss out error messages at the end (IIRC). You could try the "--flush-stdout" command-line argument and see if that gains you any information in the log file.

I've deleted old log-file and run game with --flush-stdout argument for another ~15 minutes (I also close it with Ctrl+Alt+Delete, if it matters). It now seems to be simply writing server ping to the log, though some more lines of magic words have appeared.

FWIW, this is how the game behaves for me if I turn off hardware acceleration completely. Are you use you have working accelerated OpenGL?

Cheked it now in videocard settings and dxdiag just to be certain. Sure I have. :)
