Golem - Frostspear Rune - not a bug but annoying

I know this is not a bug per se but it needs to be fixed at some point.
Playing as an alchemist, I noticed that everytime my golem uses the frostspear rune, he takes the damage himself. I guess this is due to the slow movement speed of the spear. The projectile starts right in front of the golem and next turn he moves one tile forward into the spear and gets hit by it himself, usually followed up by something an enemy casts and drops dead.
So basically he's dead half the time which doesn't make things easier...
For now I got rid of the rune, but that's not a solution
It's a very minor problem, I know, but it would be nice if someone could look into it.
