ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So been playing this game for awhile, really enjoying it but lately I've been having problems when I create a new character. Even though I put points into certain skills, such as stealth or traps as a rogue, they haven't been showing up for me so I can use them. On the character sheet it shows that I know them but I can't figure out how to use them because, like the title says, they aren't on the bar at the bottom of the screen. It started happening at first with the drake class, the equilibrium skill wouldn't show up and i had to spec into swallow in the sand drake tree. I've tried re-downloading the game and it didn't help. I don't know if this is a bug, or if there's someway to put skills on the bar that I don't know about? Am I just an idiot? lol any help would be appreciated, it seems to only happen when I play a class consistantly.

If you press m, you get a menu where you can reassign skills in your bar.

It may also be that the skills are off your bar, in which case you can press pageup and pagedown to cycle through the possible views.

Thanks a lot man, really helpful, although still not sure why they just stopped showing up.

Also, pressing the 'tab' key will cycle between skills on the tab and a monster list.
