Crash on exiting underwater caves in East

Running b34, the game abruptly crashes (game window closes) when trying to leave the underwater caves. I had just finished the caves and the temple of creation.
I have tried both walking out and using the fortress... I can get to the fortress ok, but leaving the fortress same crash.
I get as far as seeing the map, and I think my icon on the map, just before it closes.
