ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

running tome 4 1.00beta31 as a higher alchemist, have gotten stuck trying to go BACK to the far east [Back and There Again]
problems:
1. the outside randomly reset at some point, changing the location but not interior of every dungeon. can't get into angolwen now.
2. the stores have NEVER reset, so i have nothing to buy with all my money
3. For some reason the assassin holding the merchant hosTAGe kept agreeing to let me help him but nothing happened--just kept having the same conversation over and over.
4. killed the slavers nothing happened. my journal says i killed them but is still green.
5. went into farportal 2nd time, taken to a green version of the Maze but no boss or exit, explored every inch 2x but eventually had to recall.
6. stuck in tannen's dungeon. There appears to be a monster behind the doors on the > stairs; can't phase door to it, can't kill it, my golem keeps trying to attack something there, but no way i can kill it...
as far as i can tell that appears to be a game killer...
fun game, but very buggy...

6. Is this the first level of Tannen's Tower, with the four hallways to the middle? if so, you need to kill all of the enemies before the doors will open.

1. :-/ . Not sure if this is fixed or not.
2. Yeah, stores don't reset, but they will add some extra items after certain key events.
3. Something did happen: any rogue you play here on out should have a poison talent tree. Also, stairs should have appeared under you the first time you agreed to help him. I believe DarkGod intends to add more to this quest, so it is currently a little unfinished.
4. I think the slavers quest is only "Completed" if you successfully win the game.
5. Yup, slime portals are fixed for b32.
6. This is also fixed for b32. If you wish to continue with your game, you can cheat to set things straight (let us know if you want to do this and we'll tell you how), or you can ask DarkGod to intervene in-game to make things right (but he's on a business trip the next few days).

To enable cheat mode, you need to create a new settings file names "cheat.cfg" that has one line "cheat = true". Changing this to "cheat = false" (or deleting or renaming the file) turns off cheat mode. This wiki page should tell you where "cheat.cfg" should be located on your system: http://te4.org/wiki/t4modules-debugging

Once cheat mode is enabled and your game is loaded, press [ctrl]-A to bring up the debug dialogue and choose the second option from the top, "Change Level". Choose level 2. And that should do it.

You may want to log out of your online profile while in cheat mode. Also, don't forget to disable cheat mode when you're finished. Good luck!
