You cannot Extract Gems from a pickaxe. The pickaxe does not appear in the inventory list.

They aren't metallic for some reason. (Neither are amulets, rings, or brass lanterns).

They're reported as being made of metallic materials, though (iron, dwarven-steel, etc.).

IIRC, anything that lacks inherent stats derived from its materials can't be extracted from. Pretty much only armor and weapons can.

(Obviously, you can't allow people to extract from ammo, amusing though it would be to take a stack of 100 arrows and extract 100 gemstones from them.)

But what if you got the ammo version of gems instead...? Halved maybe, so 100 arrows gave 50 alchemist gemstones for throwing...(though of course that assumes arrows are metallic...and only the arrowhead is, usually).

That's just material level spam. There's a line in metallic weapons, heavy armours, and massive armours which reads

Code: Select all

	metallic = true,
in the definition of the base item definitions. Stick that in the base definition of diggers and you might be able to extract gems from them.
