Question on b30 eel-skin armor

The new addition to the eel-skin armour rocks, but I gotta wonder if it was intended to be used by an archmage. As it stands it was primarily how I was able to up my damage enough to destroy the runed bone giant that was 26 levels bigger than me: I had an extra beam that would occasionally fire and up my damage; it didn't set a cooldown on my own lightning spell, and as near as I can tell benefited from my high spellpower. Is this intended or was it supposed to put my lightning spell on cooldown when it fired? It rocks, but I gotta wonder.

All items are separate from your skills. The fact that you have a skill with the same name, does not mean that it is related to the skill you use on the item.

Yeah, just thought it'd behave a bit more like arcane blades, is all. They can sometimes get a free attack too, but the free attack puts the real spell on cooldown... and as near as I can tell, the armour uses the same spell I have, just at a different talent level.

The arcane blade ability doesn't put the spell on cooldown...
