ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Playing on "Adventure" level in b27. Died in the archmage initial quest, and on reincarnation, selected "take me away from here", and ended up in Anglowen, and selected "not now" or whatever to the sparkly archmage. Went out into the world, tried to come back after a getting a couple of levels and a new staff. Now the archmage dialog does not give me the option to resume the quest.

The initial quest still shows active. Presumably because of this, I can't get the "Into the Darkness" quest. I even tried ducking into the old forest but no luck.

Into the darkness will trigger when you kill any of the bosses

Thanks- I assume you mean one of the bosses of the 4 "Into the Darkness" dungeons? I killed Reknor(?) from the Trollmire already...

And Reknor is a place You killed Prox (and maybe Bill)

So is the initial Archmage quest supposed to be lost if you ever decline the dialog in Anglowen?
