Disruption shield bug (maybe?) and question

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if the spell is functioning as intended, but on my archmage, disruption shield seems to kill him outright whenever it's deactivated from being damaged too much. Even with spell-shaping maxed out, he still gets hit with the blast. Is this how it's supposed to work, or is something going wrong?

Also, on a related note, I'm not aware of any archmage spell besides fireflash being affected by spell shaping. Am I missing something, or is it otherwise a largely useless ability?

Spell shaping wont help you with the shield yes, not a bug.
Either deactivate it before it blows up, or setup a time shield to absorb the explosion.

Spell shaping affects all other AOEs, fireflash, inferno, corrosive vapour, the various wildfire ones

Oh, it affects the DoT spells? Interesting. Thank you.
