golem stats

I started a new game as a elven alchemist, the immortal one, my golem started with an unidentified armor which when i had him unequip and drop, my alchemist identified as something special, it required a strength of 48, somehow if a golem spawns with a high level armor his stats are forced to match?

Which beta are you playing?

Unless the Golem got overlooked in this, npcs shouldn't start with forced stat match weapons any longer, or at least, not within a certain range.
