program hangs 7 times out of 8 during character recreating

Out of the last 15 times I've tried to recreate a character, during all but two tries the program hung indefinitely while "registering character." Starting a new character from scratch doesn't seem to have the same problem.

Hum only when recreating ? you mean using the quckbirth ?

Hangs for me at Character registration however I create a character.
