The golem has a chance to become frozen when *you* step on a cold trap. I haven't noticed this with any trap types except cold.

I've done some more testing.
It's not just freeze. It's damage too.
Every time you step onto a trap, your golem takes the same amount of damage on the same turn. This means that the golem takes double damage from each trap as it walks down a hall. This happens 100% of the time for cold and lightning traps. I haven't tested fire or acid yet, but I assume they work the same way.
Interestingly, poison traps do not have this effect.

Hrm. It has been brought to my attention that these could be AoE traps.
Perhaps the messaging in the log needs to be made more clear in this case. Or a graphic effect. Or something. There is absolutely nothing in-game to indicate that these are AoE. ..in which case, maybe they need looked at? When you have a golem and an escort, everybody takes each trap in the kisser three times. It really hurts.
Okay, more testing seems to indicate that these are AoE traps, although I have discovered that telling the golem not to follow the leader does not work. It will follow you even if you tell it not to.

Those AOE traps can kill a high level summoner if he is not paying attention. Up to 9 summons can be out, if you don't notice you are taking damage really fast... you could be dead before you notice it.
I kinda feel AoE traps are not needed, but whatever.

Yeah, AoE traps are just nasty.
