[b20b] Stuck on World Map (Possible Spoilers)

As this is my first post, the first thing I have to do is give a big thanks to DarkGod for making this game. I had actually just planned on checking something on the ToME 2.x wiki when this strange new page popped up and informed me of the unbelievable news. So far ToME 4 is simply awesome.
That being said, I have now run into a problem. After completing the Trapped! quest, I was exploring the rest of the west side of the mountains directly to the east of the sandworms. The trees happened to be so arranged that there was only one space to go through to reach the mountains; unfortunately as soon as I passed through this gap, the Novice Mage showed up directly in the gap, blocking my exit. Unless I'm missing something there's no way to get around or through him, I simply keep talking to him.
Is there a way around this, or is my character in for a long, drawn out starvation on the mountainside? That would be a pity. Is it possible to alter his placement in the savefile or something? Unfortunately I'm basically clueless when it comes to coding, but if this is possible and somebody could give me a nudge in the proper direction I'm sure I could figure it out. Thanks.
