ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So, I'm trying out the alchemist in beta19.
I'm a skeleton, just exited the starter dungeon, and entered Derth.

All of Derth's peasants now flock around me, attracted like flies to syrup
They're all friendly, to me and my golem, they just follow me around.

On a side note; I encountered the double-click bug for golem power skill as well. It gave me 2 free points in that skill, after which I still had my 2 stat points to spend.

Unrelated comment: Alchemists are *very* happy with the new economy.

Not only Derth. Also, the lost merchant quest:
As soon as I entered their sight range, all actors (merchant and all bad guys) started moving towards me.
The conversation with the Assasin Lord was not triggered by me, but by him bumping into me lol.
Only with nefarious repositioning of my golem did I manage to get the merchant, who started out with 4 baddies next to him, out alive.

My alchemist had every friendly NPC following her around in Derth, the merchant quest, and Angolwen, including the boss mage you talk to for the quest.

And yes, she's swimming in money. Maybe the people are like, "ZOMG! So many gems! Maybe if we follow her around she'll give us one!"

And then you start to spam "Throw Bomb"

Please remember to keep your cloak equipped... I am very sure that would be your issue. Though if you forgot your cloak off, and then only put it on once they've "targeted" you, they will continue to follow you even with your cloak on.

Nah, cloak is not the problem. I had the same issue with a non-skeleton Alchemist.

Posting to confirm, cloak was not the issue.

1) I put on that cloak when I killed the Necromancer, and never took it off, as usual
2) The Derth population would have been hostile to me, not friendly

My alchemist is human, and has this problem.

I too encountered this problem.

It also had the elves in the mage town be friendly as well which may have contributed to a break in the 'storming the fortress quest' (the elf who teleports you was moving around, I got killed, reappeared on the world map, and could not go back)

If I recall correctly is isn't the alchemist that is followed, but the golem. Can anyone else confirm this?

thats because everyone thinks the golem is the full-metal alchemist, and not you.

Yufra is correct. I experimented by creating a new alchemist and deliberately killing her golem. I went to Derth and walked around with no golem, and the locals didn't care at all. I moved her to the center of Derth and refitted her golem, and all of a sudden, Everybody came running, and followed her and her golem around.

I also made an summoner and got her to summon flamespitters and warhounds in Derth, and nobody cared about them. So it's not just having a party member. It's specifically something about golems.

You can confirm that it's the golem by the tooltip - it says "target: golem" for the townspeople. (Has anyone tried a summoner or doomed, do they like their minions as well?)

I think the farmers want to use it to plow the soil!

My summoner summoned some creatures in Derth and nobody cared about it. They didn't even bat an eye. There's just something about that golem.
