ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I found a vault on level 3 of the Trollshaws, I think.


But I can't find the entrance. I can't dig through the trees surrounding it either. I can dig through other trees in the level just fine.

Am I missing something?

The trees of the vault ("tall thick tree" in the tooltip) cannot be removed, but some normal trees were placed in or around the entrance.
Check the lower irregular part of the vault, the entrance should be there.

145 HP ... would advise that you leave it alone - there's no super-thrilling reward, and the bloke who's been left behind to defend it might well manage to kill you.

Indeed, the entrance was hidden by normal trees in the south. It contained another honey-tree vault.
This must be my lucky game. The Trollshaws gave me 5 honey tree vaults with nice loot and all.
I cleared the first honeytree vault with my arcane blade only at character level 2, so with even less HP.
It's a simple manner of outrunning the bears when you need healing and killing them when you don't, with some patience.

After defeating Bill, and selling stuff at Berth, I made a stunning total of 128 goldpieces thanks to those vaults .
