Golem runs off and dies on world map (b14)

On the world map, my golem frequently runs off to attack packs of roving monsters by itself and dies. It always loses the fight by itself (I can't catch up to it). The result is that I have to enter a dungeon without a golem, a serious problem for an alchemist.

Please either force the alchemist and golem to join combat together, implement some ideas from http://forums.te4.org//viewtopic.php?f=39&t=23349, or just disable the golem on the world map.
