Very minor thing.
If you are encumbered and cannot move, you can still swap position with your summonned pets (playing as a wilder). So in theory, if you were patient you could still move.

Similarly, a mage with Probability Travel can still move through walls when encumbered. Found that one out in the Maze.

Going to shoot myself in the leg: As Archer/Slinger you can still "Disengage" and move that way, although you are not supposed to be able to move, as you have 'Aim' active...
