Unable to leave the Assassin Lord's den

[s]I had to redo the merchant/assassin quest just now because I was stuck after the battle. The stairway was unusable, presumably because the assassin lord died in a doorway. This is the first time I've had this sort of trouble, but it's also that first time AFAIK that he's died atop a door.[/s]

It happened again, but not on a doorway. So I checked the file. Apparently I left a random character in a weird spot by accident while I was poking around, fixing various typos the other day (e.g. the Identify spell tries to display the "You identify everything around you." message to who instead of self like the other messages). Restoring the original file for the quest fixed it.
