ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Ok i've got all graphics stuff turned down, etc. I've always found the old woods a bit laggy, especially when you get deeper in the dungeon.
But the rain just kills it now. The lag is frequent, and pretty annoying.
Anyone else seeing this?
